Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills or staining) in one go without the need to change devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models cannot. The only drawback is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what the robot has completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed including emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner by using a 600ml eufy solution.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the most up-to-date version. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
This Roborock model, like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean the objects without a pause.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin automatically refills.
The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these using the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's life. You'll need to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

This is a nice feature that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with repeated back-andforth movements.
Contrary to other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. good robot vacuum can also be programmed to skip areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive, and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, alter modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available however, it comes with numerous additional features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature of its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirty spots.
The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.
There are plenty of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and change preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or there are buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, sporting a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
